Chargers to Face the Patriots

With the Patriots dominating victory over the New York Jets yesterday, they have been sseded to play the San Diego Chargers in San Diego. The Chargers will have their work cut out for them. Brady only has 1 post season loss in his career.

Philip Rivers has been held out of practice several times this past week due to his sore foot.

“It’s pretty sore, but it’s not unbearable,” Rivers said. “If we were going to have to roll tonight, I’d be ready to roll —- it’s one of those kind of deals. We’ll take care of it this week when we have some time because I need to get a good week of practice next week before the game.”

It sounds like the injury isn’t serious. Rivers has never been the type of quarterback to rely on his legs and feet. He isn’t the most mobile QB, but he will get you some scramble yards when they’re needed.

“I think it’s in the best interests of the team that he rests that foot,” Gates said. “I’ve dealt with injuries and those foot injuries can last months. I had a foot injury last year, and I was coming into the offseason program and it was still bothering me.

“It shows that with that foot, you have to be cautious, you have to treat it. And I’m quite sure a week from now, he’ll be ready to go.”
