The Chargers haven’t had a dominated WR threat in ages. Gates is an awesome receiver, but he’s not the type of playmaker that can run up the sideline and catch a 70 yard bomb. What Rivers needs is a stud WR. What Rivers need is Calvin Johnson.

Ryan Wilson from AOL Sports Blogs thinks the Chargers can work a trade with Michael Turner to move up in the draft to the number 2 or 3 overall spot. To move up that high in the draft the Chargers would have to give up two first round picks at least, possibly a couple 3rds too.

I’m not quite sure it’s worth it.

This years draft is deep at the WR position. Sure Calvin Johnson would be an awesome fit for Rivers, but I think good talent can be had later in the draft.
