Philips Rivers Fantasy Value
David Kendrick of the San Antonio Express News wrote a short article on Philip Rivers fantasy value for the 2007 season. Here’s an excerpt:
If you’re like most fantasy owners, you tend to wait to draft your starting quarterback.
The general rule is that you get two star running backs early, then if there’s an elite receiver still hanging around, take him. After you’re set, you take a quarterback. Sometimes, you get lucky and Drew Brees or Marc Bulger are still there. But even if you can’t land one of these elite quarterbacks this season, there’s good reason to think you’ll be OK. If you need reassurance, just think “West,” as in the AFC and NFC West.In San Diego, Philip Rivers has a full season of starting under his belt and should have no problem surpassing the 22 TDs he threw last season. It doesn’t hurt that he has LaDainian Tomlinson and Antonio Gates on his side. Add to that top draft pick Craig Davis, a wide receiver out of LSU, and Rivers should be a fantasy starter.
