Rivers Played Awful against NE
I was way off in my strong showing prediction for San Diego QB Philip Rivers. Rivers was pissed all right, but he didn’t back it up with stats or a Win. Rivers ended the game 19 of 30 for 179 yards 2 touchdowns, 2 interceptions and a couple of fumbles. The two touchdown passes went to Neal and Gates, who led the team in receptions with 7 for 77 yards.
“It’s a humbling game,” said Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, who threw an interception on San Diego’s first offensive play, helping to set the tone for the debacle. “I tell you what, we thought we were going to come in here and win, and we did just the opposite. It’s a good old-fashioned butt-whipping we took.”
At least Rivers owned it instead of whining like Tomlinson. The Chargers are still one of the best teams in the NFL despite their horrid performance last night. Look for them to bounce back nicely against Green Bay next week.
