How Will Rivers Respond?
It’s been a couple of weeks since I last posted. I wanted to give all the Charger fans some time off to collect themselves after the AFC Championship game let down.
So the last we’ve heard is Philip Rivers has had minor surgery and is looking to bounce back in 2008 in a big way. He statistically had a down year in 2007, but most of that came from his poor performances early on. The Chargers got hot late, especially with the addition of Chambers. Now Rivers will have a whole off-season to work with Chambers and build something great. The only question is will the injury limit his ability to participate in mini camps and such.
The Chargers are returning all 22 starters in 2008, so that’s a very good thing. They are going to be the AFC favorites in my opinion. Rivers will be 26 years old and entering the prime time of his career. It’s not a now or never thing, but with his two other draft class buddies Manning and Big Ben, it’s time for Rivers to step up to their level and win the big game.
