First Bad Game Still Good Enough For Win

Philip Rivers had his first bad game of the 2008 season, but it was still good enough for the Chargers to win over the Raiders with a final score of 28-18. Rivers finished the game 14-25 for 180 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Stats don’t matter to him though. “It feels better than playing pretty good and losing,” Rivers said. “It’s all about winning.”

To Rivers credit though, he was getting rushed all day. He had mad respect for the Raiders Defense. “They’re the best of the four we’ve played,” Rivers said. “… Man for man and playing their scheme, they’re playing hard. Some of it was us, a lack of execution, and sometimes they just outplayed us on a play.”

The Chargers are now 2-2 on the season and showing that they’re still one of the premier teams in the league.
