Philip Rivers 2008 Stat Predictions
What can we expect from Philip Rivers in 2008? He ended the 2007 season with 3,152 yards 21 touchdowns and 15 interceptions with a QB rating of 82.4. That’s about middle of the pack. The San Diego Chargers have never solely relied on Rivers to carry this team… that’s Tomlinson’s job. So we won’t ever seen Philip put up 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns. That’s just not how this Chargers team operates.
So, what can Rivers do in 2008? I think his passing numbers will improve on 2007. He finally will have a go-to wide receiver in Chris Chambers for an entire season (remember Chambers came in midseason last year), and with Tomlinson coming off an injury, his workload may be reduced some.
3,500 yards 27 touchdowns and 15 interceptions isn’t out of question for Philip Rivers. These stats could jump his QB rating to 90+ and put him in the top 10 amongst active quarterbacks. It’s time for Philip to take that step to the next level. This will be his 3rd season as a full-time starter, and that’s usually when NFLers start to shine.
