Philip Rivers vs. the Jets on MNF

The Chargers are at home this week and will host the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. The perfect setting to show the world that the Chargers “are who we thought they were.” The 0-2 San Diego Chargers are not down and out just yet. They’re still one of the best teams in the NFL despite their poor start. Philip Rivers has shown no signs of slowing down. His knee is holding up and the offense is firing on all cylinders.

When asked what concerns him most about the Chargers, Jets safety Kerry Rhodes said, “Everything. They have the speed in a guy like Sproles. He can go the distance on any play. They have Chambers, who we’ve faced in the past with Miami and who’s hurt us. He makes all the tough catches. And you’ve got Gates, who can’t be checked by a linebacker. So you have to do certain things to cater to him a little bit. They have a lot of weapons.”

Through the first two games, Philip Rivers is 38 of 60 for 594 yards and 6 touchdowns. He has a QB rating of 122.5. He’s been everything we’ve hoped for. Now it’s time to show he can keep it going on MNF.

I’m predicting a big-time Chargers victory. The Chargers are favored by 9 points (you rarely see a line go this high). Rivers is going to throw for 325 yards and 3 touchdowns. He’ll hit Gates, Chambers and Jackson. Spreading the ball around will be a key to victory.
