From One Sunny City to Another

Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers are headed across country to play the Miami Dolphins. Normally I don’t like teams that have to travel this far, but when you’re playing the Dolphins it evens itself out. Rivers is off to a hot start and should continue his streak against Miami. Even though he got banged up some last week, I still think they’ll throw the ball a lot more then they’ll run it.

“I took a couple big ones,” said Rivers. “It happens. Our guys fought hard. It’s easy to magnify a couple times they got loose and wreaked havoc. Our guys did a good job. … But you feel a couple of those.”

look for Rivers to go 20-28 for 275 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Here’s a fantasy outlook for Philip Rivers this week (provided by the sportingnews.com)

Rivers is sixth in the league in passing yards (1,024) and second in TDs (10) through four weeks. Rivers also leads the league with 9.3 yards per pass attempt. With Tomlinson at full throttle, however, Rivers passing numbers went down (180) in Week 4. Owners actually like Rivers more when Tomlinson is gimpy, but that doesn’t mean Rivers isn’t starting material in Week 5. Miami ranks 26th in the league in pass defense, and they’ve allowed six passing TDs. Rivers is a sure starter.
