Rivers is Studying the Patriots
The last time the Chargers played the Patriots was in the 2007 AFC Championship Game, and they were in New England. This time the Patriots are coming to sunny San Diego. Philip Rivers played that game with a knee brace and showed a lot of courage going out there on the field. He made some good plays, and made some bad ones.
Every week players spend time watching game film, but this week, Rivers is spending a little extra time on the Patriots game film from 2007. “It certainly brings back memories, and some tough ones just watching the tape,” he said. “… Watching the AFC Championship Game is tough to watch. It brings back a lot of thoughts, of plays you wish you would have made, how you felt and all the different kind of scenarios that (were) going on at the time.”
The Chargers desperately need a win this week at home against the Patriots. If they can get their defense back to form and put pressure on the QB it should help their cause.
Check back tomorrow for a game preview.
