Step it up!

Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers got embarrassed by the Miami Dolphins yesterday afternoon. The Dolphins got up to an early 17-3 and the Chargers just couldn’t climb their way out of the whole. The team played terrible. “Individually, all of us have got to step it up and play better,” said quarterback Philip Rivers. “Collectively, we’ve got to go out there and get it done.”

Rivers finished the game 13-28 for 159 yards plus a touchdown. Boy was I off on my predictions…”I’m not sure if it was just with the receivers (either),” said Rivers. “It was just off in general. The flow, the way some of the things developed. The passing game just didn’t have a flow to it. I don’t know that there’s a certain reason for that. The Dolphins played a part in it. I missed throws that I could’ve made. We just didn’t execute.” And it’s not like the Chargers did anything on the ground either, getting just over 60 yards as a team.

The Chargers are now 2-3 on the year and have an uphill climb if they want to win a division in 2008.
