Chargers Hold Off Chiefs
Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers got very lucky yesterday. The Chiefs scored at the very end of the game and had a chance to tie it with an extra point, or win the game with a 2 point conversion. Since KC has nothing to play for, they went for it. Thigpen dropped back and launched a ball to the corner of the endzone. It was ultimately knocked down and intercepted.
“I think we had over 400 yards of offense, so we did a lot of good things,” Rivers said. “We just didn’t cash in in the red zone a couple of times. A turnover here and there, a couple of missed throws, all those things can get you beat, fortunately they didn’t today.”
Rivers played a decent game. He was 27-36 for 316 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. One of his picks came at the goal line. His two touchdowns came from Malcom Floyd and Antonio Gates.
