Poor performance blamed upon Smith’s shoulders
General Manager A. J. Smith’s shoulders blame for poor performance of the team. The Chargers won the 3rd straight AFC West title last season, but their year was not a success, says the general manager of the team, A. J. Smith. Playing a blame game, his finger of blame points to players and himself. He says, “I’m not real happy in a number of errors. I need to pick up my game.”

With the Steelers’ Ben Roethlisherger winning his 2nd Super Bowl ring in recent matches and the Giants’ Eli Manning owning one, too, Philip Rivers yet seeks his ring. A. J. Smith passed on the first 2 quarterbacks in going with Philip Rivers in that celebrated 1st round of the draft. A. J. Smith said about Philip Rivers that he doesn’t have any after 3 years as a starter. He adds that even then he is rooting for Philip Rivers again this year.
A. J. Smith must also soon look at Philip Rivers’ contract, which expires after the season of this year. He says that Philip Rivers is in the last year and the management will deal with it and hopefully Philip Rivers will be with the team for many years to come.
WR Malcom Floyd, which tendered at $1.545M with second-round pick as compensation, has a good connection with quarterback Rivers and he can be a solid red-zone target. Last year injuries slowed him some down the stretch last year.
