Replacement of Rivers is difficult
Getting a substitute for Philip Rivers has proven to be very difficult for the NC State. Being the matters worse is that Philip Rivers has been gone since the end of the 2003 season.
2 coaches and few QBs later, the Wolfpack entered spring practice with the QB position fairly settled.
After the start of the 2008 season 2-6 and 0-4 in ACC play, NC State rallied to win its last 4 games of the regular season that included wins over ranked Wake Forest and North Carolina, behind the strong play of redshirt freshman QB Wilson.
Russell Wilson was the 1st freshman to be named first-team All-ACC at QB. Wilson threw an interception in September last year against Clemson, but he came to the end of the season on a streak of 249 consecutive passes without a pick.
His health could be a concern for Russell Wilson after tearing a tendon in his knee in the last bowl game, but the redshirt freshman Mike Glennon could be more better.
