Rivers speaks about difference between college and NFL
Lets us check what Philip Rivers said in an interview to ESPN Radio.
Philip says that he understands how tough it is for Favre to leave the game because they are both fierce competitors. Rivers said further that it is hard to put the game down. He said that all that he can do is just to try.
Rivers also admits that without sitting behind Brees for 2 seasons he would not have got a success as a starter so fast and the transition of his from the college to NFL would not have been so smooth either. He said on this, “Coming out of college I thought I was ready to play, but after those two seasons I was way better off than if I came in as a rookie.”
About the difference between college and the NFL Rivers said that he remember in OTAs during his rookie season that he did not throw a couple passes just as to he thought the guy was covered, and Coach Cameron would stop everything and come over and say ‘That guy’s wide open.’ He added, “He looked covered to me….The windows you have to fit balls in are a lot more precise at this level.”
