Russell Wilson is the new strength of NC State
The NC State football for past 5 years has struggled and it is coincident to the number of years since Philip Rivers graduated. NC State football only made 2 bowl games since then and the combined record is 26-34.

It started the season off 2-6 in 2008 and it appears as that NC State would have another season of bad football. Well not much because a new star and potential savior of the program has arrived. He is Russell Wilson.
This is the sixth season of the program without Philip Rivers. With Rivers it was 34-17 at the helm of the offense and won 3 of 4 bowl games and it led the Wolfpack to their highest ranking ever, finishing 11th.
When Philip Rivers said goodbye to Raleigh as his home then he was second on the list of all time college passing yards. He even hold the NCAA record for most consecutive games started with 51 and he even now holds the NCAA record in yards per attempt.
I guess you can’t expect a .750 team to keep winning at that rate without a quarterback who proved himself to be one of the best quarterbacks of the decade. However, the four seasons after Rivers graduated were disastrous for quarterbacks at NC State. Whenever they though they had found a starter, he would do something to blow the game.
